Early Years Teaching Assistant Apprentice

We are looking to appoint a caring, enthusiastic and dedicated Early Years Teaching Assistant to join our welcoming team from September. This is an exciting opportunity to support our new Reception cohort as they begin their learning journey.

Working closely with the class teacher, you will play a key role in creating a nurturing, inclusive and engaging learning environment. A significant part of the role will involve providing targeted support to a small group of children with Special Educational Needs, helping them to develop academically, socially and emotionally.

What You’ll Get:

  • Salary: £8 per hour for the first 12 months followed by National Minimum wage for apprentices age

  • Apprenticeship Qualification - a nationally recognised apprenticeship qualification. Early Years Level 2 or 3 dependant on experience or qualifications.

What You’ll Do:

- Support the new Reception cohort joining the school in September, helping children settle into EYFS.

- Provide classroom support, working alongside the class teacher to deliver engaging learning activities and maintain a positive learning environment.

- Work closely with a small group of pupils with Special Educational Needs, providing tailored support to meet their individual learning and developmental needs.

- Encourage children's social, emotional, and academic development through inclusive and nurturing practice.

- Adapt activities and resources to support pupils with a range of additional needs.

- Promote positive behaviour and support children in developing independence and confidence.

- Observe and monitor pupil progress, providing feedback to the class teacher and SENCO where appropriate.

- Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all pupils by following the school's safeguarding and behaviour policies.

- Build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents to support children's successful transition into Reception.

Working Hours:

Monday-Friday, 8am - 3:30pm  

35 hours per week
